It can be lonely, going it alone into the world of self-employment and running your own business, whether that be large or small and we know that better than anyone.
Ten years ago, we were sitting around, at work, wondering idly as to whether that idea that we had buzzing in our heads could ever possibly work, but never quite had the confidence to take the plunge and find out for ourselves.
And then the recession happened and the decision was taken out of our hands, in the shape of a redundancy notice.
In a strange sort of way, losing the regular income and job was just the shove we needed to get off our arses and start that business idea and turn it into a reality.
Starting a new business in gloomy economic times is not an easy enterprise. In fact, starting any sort of new enterprise or company at any time is unlikely to be a picnic and that was precisely why we started this blog – principally to let off steam!
At times, it is going to be by turn frustrating, infuriating, tiring, expensive and just plain hard work. However, running your own business will also be the most rewarding thing that you can ever do and if you even think that you have a glimmer of an idea of something that you could turn into a business, but are not sure how to go about it, we have several pages dedicated to showing you how.
Whether you own a shop – or are planning to – or want to get started in manufacturing your own products for sale, we have a member of our team who has already done it and bought the t-shirt.
Or if it’s more practical stuff, like help with the accounts and tax, we also blog about that too!
So if you think that you want to take the next step and start your own business, here is the place to start looking!
